Maton EM225 acoustic/electric. This model was a huge seller for Maton for a very long time; it's an iconic and well loved Australian made guitar.

The spruce top lends the guitar a bright, responsive, chiming cut, while the Queensland maple adds a strong bass and low-mid to the mix, giving the guitar a warm, controlled, slightly 'scooped' sound. The QLD maple back and sides have that distinctive Australian colouration. The matte finish wears a little more quickly than high-gloss, which lends the guitar a 'played' look, but it also lets the wood speak and contributes to the big, open sound.  The slim neck will feel familiar to an electric player, as will the tidy low action.

Maton have long been famous for great pickups, the AP4 in this guitar is no exception: it's easy to get a pleasing sound through a system.

This is an honest working player's guitar, it'll be a steady companion for many years to come.
