Just arrived :
This very rare Gibson Custom Shop, Art & Historic, 1958 reissue Korina Explorer in Antique Natural Finish.
The guitar was made in the Gibson USA Custom Shop Nashville USA in 2003.
Collector owned, this guitar has lived in a humidity controlled environment and is in near mint condition. These rare early reissues of this classic '58 Korina Explorer are very hard to come by.
The pickups have been replaced with the incredibly sought-after Tom Holmes* H450 & H455 Vintage Humbuckers, and the bridge assemble replaced with a historically accurate gold/zinc one from Pigtail Music, California. (Original pickups & parts included)
This 2003 Gibson Custom, Art & Historic Explorer is a well-executed nod to one of Gibson’s most iconic designs. Featuring Korina wood, it’s lightweight, resonant, and has a edgy, punchy tone that cuts through cleanly. The neck has a comfortable medium carve, and the craftsmanship reflects the early days of Gibson’s Custom Shop hitting its stride.
It’s a rare, spectacular Vintage Reissue!
Comes with a hard case.
This is a Pre-Loved Gibson Explorer Korina 58 RI in near-mint condition.
*Tom first started into the '59 PAF pickups reproduction journey, in 1971.
Tom was George Gruhns Repair Man, for 20+ years, and has probably taken more original PAFs apart, than anyone alive. Tom Holmes pickups are absolutely stunning sounding. A head to head comparison with a real Gibson Les Paul from 1960 revealed literally no difference to the original PAFs.
Weight: 3.40kg
