Epiphone Futura Explorer Custom - Dragonfly Shift
8500906The Epiphone Futura Explorer Custom is built around a solid mahogany body that leans into a heavier, more direct response. There’s no weight relief here, so the low end feels firm and planted, and notes carry with a bit more authority when you start pushing gain, perfect for players who want something that holds together when things get loud.
The mahogany neck has a Modern C profile that feels easy to riff on, and the ebony fingerboard adds a quicker, more immediate response compared to rosewood. The compound radius keeps everything feeling even across the neck — comfortable for chords, but still clean when you’re bending higher up. Stainless steel frets help it stay that way over time, especially if it’s getting regular use (stainless steel lasts longer than standard nickel frets).
The ProBucker Ignite pickups are voiced to stay clear even when driven. There’s enough output for heavier riffs, but they don’t lose definition, which helps when you’re playing tighter rhythm parts or layered lines. The push/pull controls bring in coil split and phase options, giving you access to leaner, sharper tones without needing to change guitars mid-set. LockTone hardware and locking tuners keep things stable, so tuning stays consistent across a full set or longer sessions.
