Martin Custom Shop D-14 Fret Dreadnought
A true one-off! We hand selected the mastergrade tonewoods, and chose the spec with the Martin Custom Shop gurus @ NAMM 2018.
This guitar was designed to pay homage to the highly-collectible vintage sound and tone of Martin’s Golden Era, the 1930s.
It features Martin’s revolutionary Vintage Tone System, a proprietary temperature ageing process for the guitars top, where they are able to target the sound of their vintage acoustic guitars within a decade. Martin has honed this process by benchmarking some of the finest examples of their 182-year history, found in their Nazareth, PA museum. Once they have aged the top to the correct moisture content and look of the period, it is ready to be placed on only the finest custom and authentic models.
Our D-14 features VTS Adirondack Top & Adirondack (Golden Era) bracing, thin skin finish, quarter-sawn slab ebony fingerboard, flame maple binding and book matched Cocobolo back sides & head plate.
The Martin Custom Shop represents the very best of what the legendary guitar builder Martin has to offer. Mastergrade tonewoods, incredible attention to every detail and the highest level of the guitar-making craft is applied.
This guitar has everything you would expect from the world's number 1 acoustic guitar maker. Powerful bottom end, warm midrange, sweet trebles and glorious harmonic overtones. It is set up to play beautifully.
It sounds amazing now but give this a few years of playing and it's going to be an absolute monster
This exceptional guitar is looking for a new home...
