Classic, compact, comfortable—great things come in small packages. This 63 year-old beauty was built in 1957 and is in great condition for its age.
The period around the '50s is generally regarded as something of a golden age for Martins, and this Grand Concert is a brillaint example. Solid Sitka spruce tops mahogany back and sides, bound with tourtoiseshell and a Brazillian Rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is also inlaid with Rosewood, and the tuners are openbacked vintage style that look to be pewter.
Obviously for a guitar of this age there are marks and inperfections; the usual wear, small dings, finish checking and scratches, but it sounds beautiful, and plays like a modern guitar.
Comes with a non-original hard case.
