The CW80 has been there for generations of musicians. After a brief hiatus the CW80 has returned, this time to mark the 80th year of Maton guitars.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe CW80 has a Figured Queensland Maple Neck, Fijian Mahogany back and sides, a Engelmann Spruce soundboard and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. These are classic CW80 timbers and were used on the model from the late 1970s up to the mid-1990s, after which the neck back and sides changed to Queensland Maple. The binding is rock maple, a departure from the original plastic bindings.The guitar is finished in a polished nitro cellulose finish and is stained in the traditional Maton colours from the CW80’s “golden era” from 1978 to 2000.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is equipped with Maton’s brilliant AP5 Pro pickup system and fitted with chrome Grover machine heads.
