The 1957 Fender Stratocaster is considered one of the true classic Stratocasters. Fender switched from Ash to Alder as their primary body wood in 1956, so ‘57 is the first year with all Adler strats (excluding those with a blonde finish). Also in this year, Fender was amidst a gradual switch from bakelite to plastic pickup covers and control knobs, so some variation and mix between the exist within '57 Strats. This was also the last year of the thicker V-shaped neck profile.
This guitar is in very good overall condition considering it's age. The body and neck have been professionally refinished and relic'd. It's had a professional refret with jumbo frets as well as a full professional setup and plays amazingly! It still has it's original tuners, pickups, 3-way selector switch, parts and knobs. Comes with an SKB non-original flight standard hard case.
Just as you would imagine from an original '57 Strat, it has a comfortable chunky 50's v neck contour that feels like a dream to play. It's a great vintage Fender guitar with that legendary single coil vintage Fender tone!
