Before the Telecaster, there was the Nocaster, and before the Nocaster there was the Broadcaster. Introduced in 1950 as a twin-pickup sister to the Esquire, the Broadcaster was quickly shut down as a name by the Gretsch company as they had a 'Broadkaster'. For a time, Fender simply cut the labels off (hence the 'Nocaster') before they were finally renamed Telecasters in 1951.
Built in 2020, this is the Custom Shop tribute to the classic Broadcaster. Finished in a moderately reliced 'Journeyman' Butterscotch, this stunning guitar comes in a Custom Shop Hardcase with strap and other Custom Shop candy, including facsimiles of the original print advert and Gretsch cease and desist order.
